Clients
Clients shows activity per client for the chosen range: sessions, your hours, free work (non-billable time), real cost, API-equivalent cost, and the effective rate over all time against your floor.
Where clients come from
A client's name is the owner label projects carry. When you confirm who a project is for (in the Inbox, on the project page, or with /hours label), the project is linked to the client with that name, and the client is created if it's new. "Personal" means no client.
Manage clients
Each live client has a form:
- Name: renaming also updates the owner label on its projects, so history stays with the client.
- Code: a short code, up to 12 characters. Team workspaces use it to match deal folders.
- Default rate: used for time entries and as a fallback rate for budgets.
- Billable by default: the default for new entries for this client.
- Archive: hides the client from pickers. Nothing is deleted.
Use "Add client" for a new one. Archived clients are listed under Archived with Restore. An archived client with activity in the range still shows in the table, marked "archived".
Billing details
Each client has billing details for invoices: billing email, billing address, VAT number, and its own supervised and agent rates if they differ from your rate card. A client needs a billing address before you can issue an invoice to it; the page says "(address needed to invoice)" until you add one.
