Quotes
Quotes lists your quotes with their status (draft, approved, sent, accepted, declined), the client, the price, what has been invoiced and the valid-until date. Decided quotes give a win rate.
Making a quote
- Press New quote.
- Choose the client (add it on Clients first if it's new) and give it a title.
- Press "Price this quote". Cardinal suggests similar past projects and prices from them. Nothing is sent.
- On the quote, fill in the scope (one deliverable per line), the project it belongs to if any, your target margin, how many days it is valid for, and the price. Leave the price blank to use the suggestion.
How it's priced
The quote page shows the medians of the similar projects, frozen when you last saved:
- Cost basis: the median job's hours at your floor plus its AI cost. "Never quote below this without a reason."
- Cost-plus at your margin.
- Value anchor: the traditional-build hours at a market rate.
- Rate card: what hourly billing would give.
- The suggested price.
The price check shows the quoted price, the rate per hour of your time, the margin over cost, and your hours before the floor. If the price is below what similar work cost, the page says so.
Change the inputs under Edit and press "Save and re-price".
Approving
Approval numbers the quote and locks the price, so a deck or an invoice can't drift from it. A price below cost needs the "Approve below cost" tick. A draft can be deleted; an approved quote can't be edited.
Outcome
- Mark as sent.
- Accepted: then "Invoice 50% deposit", and later the balance (or "Invoice in full"). The page says "Fully invoiced." when done.
- Declined: give a reason; it shows on the quote.
A quote past its valid-until date is marked expired until it is decided.
Pitch decks
From a quote you can draft a pitch deck. See "Pitch decks".
