The invoice agent

The invoice agent drafts invoices for you. It never issues or sends anything: every draft waits for you.

Asking it

Type what you want in one line, for example "invoice Rleaf for last month based on the quote", or use the pickers: client, period, and whether to bill unbilled time or an open quote (with an optional deposit %). Use "Tell the agent" for anything extra.

It drafts one invoice per client with work. "See drafts" takes you to them.

What it does on each draft

• Explains each line.
• Runs checks: anything that would block issuing, rates that don't match your rate card, the ratio of agent to supervised hours, old unbilled work, a mismatch with the quote, a missing email address, and the VAT threshold.
• Writes a cover email. The amounts in it are filled in by code from the invoice.

"Check again" on a draft runs the checks again after you change it.

Payment reminders

On an unpaid invoice, "Draft reminder" writes a reminder. Its tone follows how many days the invoice is overdue and how long this client usually takes to pay. Copying it counts as accepting it.

Where the AI runs

The first draft uses a template written by code. Cardinal then queues jobs for the runner on your computer, which uses your own claude to write the words. The AI jobs panel shows each job; while your computer is off it says "Waiting for your computer…". Answers never overwrite an invoice you've issued.

Agent scorecard

The scorecard covers the last 90 days:

• Accepted: issued untouched.
• Edited: issued after changes.
• Rejected: the draft was deleted.

It also shows the acceptance rate, cost per kept draft, time to decision and the value kept.
