Invites and switching workspaces

Teams and members. How people join a workspace, how to belong to more than one, and how customer workspaces are opened.

Inviting someone

  1. Add them on the Team page.
  2. Open their member page and use Invite under Sign-in.
  3. Send them the link, or let Cardinal email it if email is set up. The link lasts 14 days, works once, and only for the email on their member record.

They open the link, create a password (or sign in with an existing Cardinal account), and join. If their mailbox needs confirming, they confirm it and open the link again. Agents can't be invited, and only whoever manages a person can invite them.

More than one workspace

One Cardinal account can belong to several workspaces, for example your own and a client firm's. When you belong to more than one, a workspace picker shows in the top bar. Choose another workspace and the page reloads in it. Cardinal checks your membership in that workspace on every page.

What you see follows your role and your place in that workspace's reporting tree, so it can differ between workspaces. One browser shows one workspace at a time.

When a membership ends

If you are archived from a workspace, you can't open it any more. If it was your only one, the sign-in page says your account isn't part of any workspace now.

Customer workspaces

The operator of Cardinal can open a workspace for a firm from Settings, under Customer workspaces. It starts on a trial, and its owner is invited. Their data stays in their workspace, and the operator is not a member of it.

If a workspace lapses

A workspace whose subscription has lapsed or been cancelled shows only a notice. The data is kept.
