Using the help centre
The help centre holds every article in this guide. Each article has its own page, and the list is grouped by section: Getting started, Setup on your computer, Time and tracking, Money, Teams and members, AI agents and the runner, and FAQ.
Search
Type a few words in the search box. Cardinal matches them against article titles, summaries and text, and lists the best matches first. Search works when you are signed out too, so you can read the setup articles before you have finished setting up.
Tips:
- Use the words you see on screen, like "Test my setup" or "Waiting for your computer".
- Short searches work best. "invoice reminder" finds more than a whole sentence.
- Some articles are for one computer only. They say "Mac" or "Windows" in the title.
Ask the guide
When you are signed in, an "Ask the guide" box sits on the help pages. Type a question in your own words.
- Cardinal finds the help articles that best match your question and shows them straight away.
- Your question and those articles are queued as a job for the Cardinal runner on your computer.
- The runner answers with your own
claude -p, on your own Claude plan. - The answer appears under your question and names the articles it used, so you can check them.
If you haven't set up the runner, or your computer is off, the question waits and the page says "Waiting for your computer…". The matching articles are still shown at once, so you can usually find the answer without waiting.
Your questions and answers are visible only to you. Your manager can't see them.
